In early 2021, Indonesia’s star electronic trio Weird Genius and Monstercat label veteran Tokyo Machine released a whimsical collab featuring electro-pop icon Lights. The anthemic record, “Last Summer“, racked up millions of streams, with its nostalgic harmonies and bright textures complemented by smooth, sultry vocals. Now, nearing the end of the current summer, a fresh new remix package has been released for the song. Featuring a plethora of Asian artists and a diverse range of styles, each remix easily pulls its weight along the original.

One of the longest-running artists on the label, Feint has brought forth a steady decade of releases. Airjordy, one of China’s hottest new multi-genre producers, brings traditional instruments into the mix coalescing with some bumpin’ drumstep. With production credits on game and film soundtracks as well as pop music, he’s considered to be one of the most versatile electronic artists coming out of the Middle Kingdom these days. Having established himself in the bass sphere in recent years with a multitude of dubstep releases, he’s made a return to his roots with UK hardcore / hardstyle as his rendition of Last Summer fully encapsulates the sweeping euphoric drive of 150 BPM.
