Motherbasss: 10 Years of Mayhem
On a Friday night at Gravity Art Space in Quezon City, DJ-drummer duo Motherbasss celebrated their 10th anniversary with a spectacular show. The event featured a diverse lineup, including Roxy Modesto, Ron Henley, Red-I, Extra! Extra!, and DJs from Very Done, performing across two stages. The evening was a fusion of art and music, creating a memorable experience for attendees.
The Motherbasss Story
Motherbasss members Nix Damn P and Macky Brillantes, both from the hip hop group Stick Figgas, had an unexpected start. Despite attending the same grade school and college, they weren’t close until a chance encounter. A shared night out, conversation about music, and an impromptu jam session led to their first gig just a week later.

Motherbasss’s Achievements
Over the past decade, Motherbasss has achieved significant milestones. Their album, “Infinite Afternoon,” was released, and they became Air Jordan Manila ambassadors. Their impressive list of performances includes opening for Martin Garrix at Forever Summer (2015), multiple appearances at Sinulog (2013-2016), Masskara (2014-2016), Kadayawan in Davao (2016), and Dinagyang in Iloilo (2020). They also participated in Nike NBA player entrances.
Further accomplishments include a headlining show in Ho Chi Minh City (2014), the East Asia League Fest in Macau with JCon, Minzy Gong, and MC Jin (2018), and the Kia Beats festival with a 50-piece orchestra (2016). They also performed at the 7107 International Music Festival (2014) and participated in several other events, including Red Bull Tagged (2013) and Hennessy Artistry (2014-2015).
Motherbasss’s dedication and passion for music are evident in their remarkable achievements. Their ten-year celebration showcased their artistic growth and commitment to their craft. They have inspired many, and will continue to influence aspiring musicians for years to come.
