Track of the Week #2: Masayoshi Iimori – DON’T STOP

When it comes to versatility in bass music, call up Masayoshi Iimori. One of the most prolific bass producers coming out of Japan in recent years, he’s continuously dropped bangers flexing his genre-blending prowess and “Don’t Stop” is no exception. With his signature trippy soundscape he’s caught the attention of labels such as Mad Decent, Fool’s Gold, Barong Family, Monstercat, and Sable Valley.
Masayoshi doesn’t shy away from incorporating hip-hop elements; brownie points for an artist known primarily for trap (which in EDM encapsulates drawing inspiration from hip-hop beats and rhythms), as we get some full-on 808 drums in this latest release. Going into the drops we also get dubstep elements overlaying the trap foundation, and finally a bit of hard bass.
With an extensive discography, there’s a bit of everything for bassheads across the spectrum to explore – whether it’s DnB, mid-tempo, breaks or even leftfield, Masayoshi Iimori has got you covered.
