Track of the Week #4: Farrah – EVERLAST

With bass music sweeping across Asia, the city of Hong Kong has all the potential to be a talent hotspot. A place that’s served heavy inspiration to the cyberpunk aesthetic, it only seems natural to have bass talent coming out of the woodwork. Farrah is one of these names to get familiar with. Following up releases on heavyweight labels such as Jadu Dala and Bassrush, her most recent has landed her on the brand new Deadbeats compilation album.

When it comes to trap, Farrah has already hit the nail on the head. Garnering support from the likes of Alison Wonderland and Flosstradamus, she’s proven to be a force spearheading the movement in Asia. “Everlast” seems to show she’s hungry for more, demonstrating an evolution in her style blending leftfield influences and DnB into her signature sound. As a young woman of color breaking into the industry, she’ll certainly be an inspiration for a new generation of Canto producers hoping to carve their way into the scene.
