NEW EDM DIGITAL COLLECTIBLES PLATFORM: RCRDSHP
RCRDSHP (pronounced “record shop”), which has only recently launched on August 17th, 2021, is already proving to be an extremely promising venture. It is arguably the most exciting digital collectibles marketplace we have seen so far this year. RCRDSHP aims to be a gamified space where electronic dance music can thrive, allowing fans to connect with their favorite artists and producers/DJs to make a living off of their forward-thinking work, by taking full advantage of cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain technologies and NFTs.
RCRDSHP is unquestionably more than just a digital collectibles marketplace, as we’ve seen with the launch of a number of similar NFT-focused platforms over the past year. In the words of co-founder and CEO Obie Fernandez, the platform is run by a dedicated team of DJs and producers with the goal of being an artist-centric platform. “Our hearts are in the right place: with the music and the people who create it, which is what sets us apart from our competitors. At RCRDSHP, we are all serious DJs and music producers who want to provide more sustainable ways for our fellow musicians to make a living through the use of new and exciting technology,” he says in a press release.
In conjunction with its launch, RCRDSHP has just released its first GENESIS packs, which feature collectibles from legendary DJs and producers, iconic labels, and major festivals all over the world, and cover the full spectrum of electronic music style and genres. Mark Knight (Toolroom Records UK), Sharam Jey (Bunnytiger Records DE), Vassy (17 platinum certifications), Solarstone (Pure Trance UK), acclaimed labels Mobilee Records (Berlin), Deeperfect (Florence), Iboga (Copenhagen), Black Hole Recordings (NL), and premium electronic events such as Transmission Festival are just a few of the artists who will be releasing exclusive digital drops on RCRDSHP.
“We’ve spent months partnering exclusively with dozens of the world’s most credible artists, labels, and event brands from the worldwide electronic dance music scene”, explains co-founder and CCO Eric Reithler-Barros. “We really want to feature all layers of the electronic dance music world, from shiny mainstream to deep dark underground, from trance to techno to bass to d&b, from exclusive tracks to limited-edition sample packs and DJ cards,” says the seasoned global dance music executive in his conclusion.
The RCRDSHP is, without a doubt, a truly exciting and innovative project. Combining electronic dance music, gaming, and collectibles, and doing so with the help of new financial technologies (NFTs) and blockchain technologies, RCRDSHP is poised for a bright future in the scene, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what it has in store for us when its first releases come out.
