Midnight Rebels x &Friends: DJ Contest – Enter Now!

Get ready for an incredible opportunity! You now have a chance to play at the highly anticipated festival of the year: the &Friends Festival! As part of this massive event, we at Midnight Rebels are thrilled to announce a takeover on Day 2.

As a community and artist-driven platform, we’ve teamed up with &Friends to offer three lucky individuals the chance to perform at this massive festival. Show us what you’ve got in our Battle Mix Competition!

We’re looking for incredible 10 to 15-minute video mixes that highlight your skills in both DJing and music production! Here’s how we’ll be scoring your submissions: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines will be disregarded.

1. Production Power (40% of your score) This is where your creative production skills take center stage within your DJ set (tracks must be your own creations):

• Original Tracks: The inclusion of your own produced tracks will be highly valued. Judges will consider the quality of the production, arrangement, and overall impact of the original material within the mix.
• Mashups: Seamlessly blending two or more existing tracks to create a new and exciting outcome. Judges will assess the originality of the combination, the technical execution of the blend, and the overall musicality.
• Cool Edits & Remixes: Unique reworks of existing tracks that demonstrate your creative vision and production abilities. This could include adding new elements, changing arrangements, or putting a fresh spin on familiar sounds.

2. DJ Skills (30% of your score) While production is crucial, solid DJing is still essential for a compelling mix:

• Transitions: How well you blend tracks together. We’re looking for clean beatmatching and creative transitions.
• Track Selection: The flow and energy of your set. Does your tracklist take us on a journey?
• Use of Effects: Applying effects in a way that enhances your mix, not distracts from it.

3. Show Some Love (20% of your score) Let’s see how the community and your followers reacts to your mix on YouTube!

• In-Development On-Chain App Voting: A large part of your audience engagement score will be determined through our in-development, transparent on-chain voting app. This secure system allows the community to directly support their favorite mixes. We’ll share details on how to access and use the app after submissions close.
• Comments/Views/Likes:: The quality and positivity of the comments on your video. The number of likes and views your video receives. We’ll be looking for genuine engagement and positive feedback.

4. Watch This! (10% of your score) Since this is a video submission, your visuals matter:

• Engaging Video: How visually interesting and captivating is your video? This could include your performance, creative visuals, or anything that grabs our attention.
• Good Presentation: The quality of your video recording, editing, and overall aesthetic. Does it represent your brand and vibe?

• Format: Submit your mix as a video file (e.g., MP4, MOV) via Google Drive link.
• YouTube: We’ll upload it to the Midnight Rebels channel.

Important Note for All Contestants in the Philippines:

This incredible opportunity to showcase your talent and potentially perform at the &Friends Festival is open to all talented DJ/producers across the Philippines! We’re excited to hear your mixes.

However, please kindly note that transportation and lodging to any required events or performances will not be provided by Midnight Rebels and &Friends and must be shouldered by the contestant. We encourage everyone with a passion for music to participate and embrace this chance to shine on a big stage!

This DJ and Producer competition marks our exciting first venture into showcasing the incredible talent within our community! We’re truly looking forward to seeing all your amazing submissions and utilizing a voting system that reflects fairness and engagement.

While we’re currently managing the voting process through established methods, we want to share that we’re actively developing a dedicated voting on-chain app for this competitions.
