One year after breaking the internet with his debut track “Rain,” Papa Khan is back with another masterstroke.
“The Tide,” the latest single from one of bass music’s most exciting artists, was released today on Monstercat. Khan, has once again harnessed his self-taught music production skills and dropped another instant classic that will undoubtedly be rinsed in DJ sets for years to come.
“The Tide” commences with delicate water drops and cavernous vocals, creating a spacey ambiance that showcases Khan’s completely unique sound design. A bewildering mix of rhythmic synthesizers and bass follows, transporting Khan’s listeners to an underwater nirvana.
The publication of “The Tide” marks not just a watershed moment in Papa Khan’s fledgling electronic music career, but also a personal accomplishment.
“I wonder what my Dad would think of the fact that I signed to Monstercat with the release of ‘The Tide’ today,” Papa Khan remarked in a press statement. “I told him from the start of the Papa Khan project that I would make it, and here I am making my Monstercat debut. I miss him, and I hope you like this single as much as I know he would have.”
