Gorillaz Drop New Track “Cracker Island” With Thundercat
The band Gorillaz has collaborated with bassist and all-around goofy extraordinaire Thundercat to create a new song titled “Cracker Island.”
Cracker Island is the name of a new song that was produced by Gorillaz in collaboration with the bassist Thundercat. “Cracker Island” is a frenetic blast of dance funk that tempers its smooth, bass-heavy groove with lots of roughness and a touch of dark wave energy. The song’s title refers to an island in the Caribbean Sea. Thundercat offers aid to Damon Albarn on the vocals of the song, while Greg Kurstin and Remi Kabaka, Jr. are responsible for the track’s production.
The animation band Gorillaz released their first new music of 2022 with the song “Cracker Island,” which they debuted live in April when they began their global tour in Uruguay. “Cracker Island” is the first new music released by the band in 2022. In the previous year, they released a three-track EP named “Meanwhile,” in addition to a large box set commemorating the 20th anniversary of the release of their self-titled debut album. Song Machine: Season One — Strange Timez was published by Gorillaz in October of 2020. This album was a compilation of the several star-studded collaborations that the band had released throughout the course of the year.
The cartoon band has also been promoting a new idea that they dub ‘The Last Cult.’ According to the band, the band’s cartoon bassist, Murdoc Niccals, is the “self-appointed Great Leader” of the group’s cult.
