Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter Scores New Ballet
Following Daft Punk’s highly publicized split earlier this year, fans have eagerly awaited the next projects from its visionary producers. It seems that Thomas Bangalter has already started his next endeavor. While the world was still processing the news of the band’s disbanding, Bangalter has quietly begun work on a new ballet score.

Bangalter’s Expanding Portfolio
Bangalter’s impressive resume includes composing music for films such as TRON: Legacy, Irréversible, Riga, and Climax, both independently and as a member of Daft Punk. His score for Mythologies showcases his compositional range and now this ballet score further displays his versatility in the creative world.
Ballet Details
The ballet, set to premiere at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in Bordeaux, France, from July 1st to 10th of next year, will be performed in English. The Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine will perform Bangalter’s 90-minute score under the musical direction of Romain Dumas. The ballet, choreographed by Angelin Preljocaj, is described on its website as exploring “contemporary rituals and the founding myths that shape the collective imagination.”
