John Odin is bringing this global trend to Manila, collaborating with talented 3D artists Ivan Tizon and Russell Rivera. Their collaboration aims to enhance the local nightlife scene by introducing a new level of visual sophistication to the clubbing experience.
Fun fact: Ivan, in addition to being a creative director, is also a part-time techno DJ.
Behind the Scenes: An Interview with the Artists
We interviewed the artists to learn about their creative process and the work that went into their performance last June 16th at BSK Manila.
The Creative Process
“It all started with an idea! Midnight Rebels and John shared a concept with me, and we began working immediately. We used Daz 3D for the base model and then refined it in Blender. I added earthy textures and gave it character with vines and petals. The process was surprisingly quick.”
Technical Challenges
“Rendering was challenging! We encountered crashes, missing files, and needed to fix parts of the model after initial tests. However, seeing the final product on the big screen was amazing!”
A Memorable Collaboration
“The night of the BSK performance when our creation came to life was definitely a highlight! It was rewarding to see so many people enjoying our work. But every rehearsal, revision, and late night was also memorable.”
First Music Performance Visuals
“This was our first experience creating visuals for a music performance, and it was fantastic! Russell and I connected with John Odin over our shared vision. We only take on projects where we share a similar creative outlook.”
