[ EXCERPT ]

Yuna has released Y3, the third of five capsule projects preceding her upcoming album Y5. It comprises three new songs, one of which has a visual accompaniment.

Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna released her third extended play (EP) of the year, titled Y3, along with a captivating music video for the track “Risk It All.”

Yuna’s Y3 EP: A Deep Dive

Y3 offers a collection of songs carefully crafted for playlists catering to the emotional spectrum of love. The EP showcases Yuna’s signature airy and light vocals, complemented by gorgeous, minimalist production. Hints of easygoing R&B permeate the tracks, creating a cohesive and enjoyable listening experience.

The “Risk It All” music video, filmed in Malibu and directed by Yuna’s husband, Adam Sinclair, provides a visual complement to the song’s emotional depth.

Released on July 8th, Y3 includes the songs “Don’t Wanna Know,” “Risk It All,” and “Summer Love.” Sharing her excitement on social media, Yuna tweeted, “Excited about Y3! I can’t believe I already have 3 parts of my album out.. 2 more to go.”

Yuna’s Musical Journey: The Y5 Project

Y3 is the third installment in Yuna’s five-part Y5 album project. The complete album is slated for a fall release, likely around September, marking her second independent release in a decade following her 2019 album, Rouge, which was distributed by UMG Recordings.

Previous Releases

Yuna’s musical journey leading up to Y3 includes the release of her four-track EP, Y1, in March, which she described as her “most personal effort to date.” This was followed by Y2 in May, which featured the track “Make A Move,” accompanied by a music video also directed by Adam Sinclair. Y2 also included other notable tracks such as ‘24 Hours’ and ‘Girl U Used 2 Know.’
