Iloilo-based nightlife artist collective Cloud Nyt held a special event, “The Finale,” on February 24th at Level 7. This event marked the end of their one-year residency and served as a strategic rebranding opportunity.
The event celebrated Cloud Nyt’s achievements and offered a preview of their future plans. Organized in collaboration with Midnight Rebels, it featured a diverse lineup of artists, a unique sound format, and a special theme. It was also a stop on Midnight Rebels’ Inter-City Tour in Visayas, promoting local DJs and diverse electronic music across the Philippines.
Why the Break?
Cloud Nyt founders Lxnsta and Loso explained that taking a break was essential for brand growth. They planned to use the next 1-2 months for development, planning, and skill refinement, aiming for a stronger return. This break doesn’t mean a complete disappearance; they will maintain activity through partnerships, events, projects, and individual artist performances.
Challenges and Inspirations
The decision to pause also reflects the challenges of promoting underground music in Iloilo. The crowd’s preference for commercial sounds, limited venue options, and limited nightlife activity beyond Fridays and Saturdays create obstacles. However, Cloud Nyt remains optimistic, citing growing acceptance of their style and drawing inspiration from diverse clubs like Nokal, HQ, and Apotheka.
