MIDNIGHT REBELS
Editorial Standards / Ethics Policy
At Midnight Rebels, our goal is to build and maintain the trust of our readers, artists, and the wider music community. Because we are a small, independent team, we answer only to our audience—not to major corporate sponsors or record labels.
We hold ourselves to the following simple ethical principles:
- Editorial Independence: Our coverage decisions are based purely on cultural relevance and merit. If we feature an artist, a music festival, or a release, it is because we genuinely believe it is worth writing about.
- Reviews and Hospitality: We are occasionally invited to review club nights, festivals, or gear, and may receive complimentary entry or press passes. Accepting these does not guarantee a positive review. We will always give our honest assessment to protect the integrity of our platform and respect our readers’ time and money.
- Conflicts of Interest: We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable editorial coverage or guaranteed positive reviews. If a piece of content is sponsored or part of a commercial partnership, it will be clearly and explicitly labeled as such.
- Respect for the Community: We cover both the mainstream and underground music landscapes with fairness. We do not engage in malicious gossip or takedown pieces. Our aim is to critique constructively and elevate the culture.
