Sinulog Festival was an incredibly busy week for Midnight Rebels. We had a relentless schedule of shows, packed venues, and a constant buzz of excitement. We poured our hearts and souls into creating great experiences for Cebuanos and tourists.

Exhausted but exhilarated, “Kami Naman” was the perfect end to the Sinulog week. The venue had a raw, intimate atmosphere that matched the energy of the past few days.
MC Pao immediately set the tone with his infectious energy. Artists, DJs, and organizers were all together, sharing experiences and exhaustion. Conversations flowed easily, stories were exchanged, and friendships were made. It was a celebration of our collective efforts, a chance to acknowledge the week’s challenges and successes.
Kami Naman: A Night of Connection and Celebration
Last year’s Kami Naman was another amazing event. The RSVP guest list was more engaging, and the event created more buzz than in previous years. Many new people attended, and veterans welcomed the new sounds of the nightlife and artists. Most importantly, everyone felt included within the crowd.
I was fortunate to play a set that night. It was rewarding to play music people had never heard before—my original songs and remixes. This gave me complete freedom to showcase my artistry at Kami Naman. The atmosphere was great; there were many “hellos” and “I’ve heard your stuff” moments, which was very wholesome.

Improving Kami Naman’s Impact
I believe Kami Naman could be even better. With local scouts from various organizations present, it could be a powerful platform for aspiring artists to connect with industry leaders. A designated area or a brief introduction session could highlight representatives from each production company, making it easier for newcomers to network.
Expanding Kami Naman’s Reach
The food and drinks were a thoughtful addition, but Kami Naman could enhance its value by including more diverse genres. A gathering with DJs, electronic music artists, and guest performers from other genres—bands, solo acts, etc.—would create greater diversity and foster collaboration within the local creative community.

Despite its minor shortcomings, Kami Naman was a valuable addition to Sinulog. It was a space for reflection, celebration, and connection—a much-needed respite after the festival. With a few improvements, it has the potential to become an even more powerful platform for artists, organizers, and the Cebu creative scene.
