Cubios, the company behind the WowCube handheld gaming cube, has raised $1.5 million in funding from Aleksandr Agapitov, the founder of Xsolla, and other investors. The funding is a portion of a total of $4.5 million raised by the company in its most recent round of financing.
The WowCube is similar to a Rubik’s Cube, but it has displays built into it. Simple in design, it is one-of-a-kind because it was conceived by a 13-year-old boy five years ago and developed into a company by his father over the following five years. The young adolescent inquired of his father about the possibility of creating a Rubik’s Cube out of video game displays. Cubios was founded by his father, Ilya Osipov, in order to make this happen.
