Riot Games, a venerable developer, has introduced a new playable character by the name of Neon. The introduction of the newest agent coincided with the release of a brand-new video titled “Spark.” As the video’s title suggests, Neon possesses electrically-based abilities and places a strong emphasis on speed. A mix of animation and gameplay footage is shown in the video, which is set to the song “Entertain Me” by Ylona Garcia & 88rising. Watch the video below. Although Riot has revealed that the character was born in the Philippines, few other details about her early life have been revealed at this point. The character will not be available until January 10th, which means Valorant fans will have to wait a few more days before they can enjoy playing as Neon!
The new video, which features Neon, can be viewed in the player embedded below.
Neon is the 19th agent in the game so far, and he will be a duelist, as previously stated. When it came to creating Valorant’s newest character, it appears that Riot Games went to great lengths to ensure that her backstory was as authentic as possible. Vanille Velasquez, a Filipino voice actor, provides the character’s voice, while Ylona Garcia, a Filipino singer from Australia, provides the character’s vocals. On Twitter, Velasquez expressed his excitement at the prospect of bringing the character to life on the big screen.
So far, Neon appears to have captured the hearts of both loyal and non-loyal fans! Fans have expressed their approval for the character’s design as well as what they have been able to see of her abilities on social media platforms. Riot’s efforts to establish a presence in Valorant have also received positive feedback. The character’s ability to hold her own against the currently existing agents is still up in the air, but hopefully Riot Games will provide players with a well-balanced new addition when she makes her official debut later this month!
