Riot currently operates in Southeast Asia from a hub office in Singapore, as well as from a branch office in Japan. According to their official website, the company will now open new publishing offices in the Philippines, India, Indonesia/Malaysia, and Thailand, in addition to its current locations.
Riot has also appointed Alex Kraynov, its former Managing Director of Emerging Markets (Southeast Asia, India, Latin America, Brazil, the Middle East, North Africa, and Japan), as its new Managing Director for APAC.
Riot has launched several new games in the last couple of years, including Valorant, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, and the Riot Forge titles Ruined King and Hextech Mayhem, all with the goal of becoming the most player-focused game company in the world.
Additionally, Riot has released Arcane, a critically acclaimed Netflix animation series, and has stepped up its efforts within the Riot Games Music group with the release of royalty-free music under the Riot Sessions moniker.
Riot has also continued to expand its presence in the fashion industry, collaborating with companies such as Uniqlo to create a line of League of Legends Ultimate Team T-shirts. More recently, Riot collaborated with Filipino urban streetwear brand Team Manila on an exclusive capsule collection to commemorate the release of Neon, the first Filipino agent in the tactical shooter Valorant, which was released earlier this year.
Since re-establishing its Southeast Asia headquarters in Singapore in 2018, Riot has experienced significant growth in its workforce and is now doubling down on its publishing efforts in the region.
In addition to establishing local offices, Riot Games will be hiring Country Managers in key markets such as the United States, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and India, collaborating with Riot’s Japan office on publishing projects, and expanding its publishing hub in Singapore to accommodate more than 80 people from across the region.
After hiring Alex Kraynov to lead APAC Publishing, he has also hired Joel Guzman as Country Manager of the Philippines and Resha Pradipta as Country Manager of Indonesia and Malaysia, as well.
This leadership team will continue to expand beginning in 2022 and continuing into the future, with the appointment of a Country Manager for Thailand, a Country Manager for India, and a Head of Regional Technology.
