Just a few short years ago, horror wasn’t considered to be the best genre for mobile gaming. However, the genre has undergone something of a renaissance in recent years, and things have gotten significantly better. Horror games can incorporate elements from a variety of different genres. It appears that many mobile games incorporate elements of adventure, action, first-person shooter (FPS), and arcade gameplay. Five Nights at Freddy’s jump scares have come a long way since the original release of the game series. Here is a list of the best horror games available for Android.

Eyes is a respectable horror escape game in general. While attempting to break into a mansion in order to explore it, you find yourself being pursued by a monster. Among the features of the game are multiple levels to unlock, a couple of game modes, offline support, and global leaderboards accessible through Google Play Games. The controls and graphics are both quite appealing, and everything worked perfectly. We didn’t find it particularly frightening, but the atmosphere is dark and creepy, and the play is entertaining as a whole. If you have Google Play Pass, you can get Eyes for free as well.
FRAN BOW SERIES
Fran Bow is yet another installment in the horror game genre. Essentially, each game represents a different chapter in the story. Fran Bow, in contrast to many other games that collect the entire series into a single title, breaks the mold by releasing each chapter as a separate downloadable game. To enter an alternate world, you must self-administer medication, which you must do by following the instructions on the screen. The plot of the story is extremely disturbing. Overall, it’s a respectable series. Each game in the series will cost you $0.99, and there will be no in-app purchases or advertisements to distract you.
THE WALKING DEAD TELLTALE SERIES
The Walking Dead is a series of horror video games developed by Telltale Games that began in 2009. They are based on the popular comic book series of the same name as well as the television show of the same name. In each game, you’ll progress through five episodes of the story line while attempting to survive the zombie horde, insane people, and other obstacles. – The franchise consists of a total of four games in total. They all contain elements of adventure, puzzle, hidden object, and other types of gameplay elements. They can be a little creepy at times, but for the most part, they’re just plain entertaining. Telltale Games is no longer in control of these games, according to the company. We’ve included a link to the first one below, but you’ll have to search Google Play for the rest.
DEAD BY DAYLIGHT MOBILE
Dead by Daylight Mobile is an unexpectedly entertaining game. Asymmetrical PvP battles take place between four players and a single opponent in this game of wits. The solo player is a monster, possessing a variety of special abilities that give them an advantage over their adversaries. The game receives consistent updates, including balance changes and other changes, so nothing remains the same for an extended period of time. In addition, the movement controls and mechanics are excellent.
FIVE NIGHT AT FREDDY’S SERIES
There are five titles in the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, and they are all extremely popular horror video games. They rely on the old-fashioned jump scare to get their attention. Your job is to find a quiet place to sit and keep an eye out for any living robots. They are, of course, attempting to assassinate you. If you can make it through the game, you’ve won. There is also a good deal of lore and story to be found here. These games have a large following on YouTube as well, so there is a lot of interesting content to watch there as well. To complete all of the games, you must first complete the tutorial. The mechanics differ from one game to the next. The fundamental premise, on the other hand, remains unchanged. The cost of each game is $2.99. Even though the games aren’t as big a deal as they used to be, the series still has a dedicated following.
Thimbleweed Park is a noir thriller with horror elements that takes place in a park. In Thimbleweed Park, there are 80 insane residents, and you have to deal with a dead body. There are all kinds of strange things happening around town, and it’s your job to figure out what’s going on. There are five playable characters, a slew of jokes, two difficulty levels, a hint system, and a lot more to enjoy in this game. This one isn’t particularly frightening, but it does contain many of the same elements found in horror games. Consider it akin to a Bruce Campbell action film. Even though it isn’t scary, you still watch them during Halloween, don’t you? Thimbleweed Park works in the same way, and it’s also available for free with the Google Play Pass.
DEAD EFFECT 2
Dead Effect 2 is a spooky sci-fi shooter with a horror theme. You’ll take on the role of one of three different characters. Your objective is to progress through the game, acquire new weapons, and defeat the bad guys. This game has a ton of alien bad guys, a ton of dark corridors, and a campaign mode that takes about 20 hours to complete. Even on their own, the graphics are quite impressive. If you’re using an Nvidia Shield device, you’ll see a slight improvement in performance. It’s not exactly what you’d expect when it comes to horror games, but it is what it is. On the other hand, it’s about as close to a horror shooter as you can get on a mobile device.
Blue Wizard Digital’s Slayaway Camp is a puzzle and gore game with a dark theme. You must solve puzzles, kill enemies, and witness copious amounts of blood. You will, however, need to enable gore mode in order to play. In Slayaway Camp, there are 140 levels, which should be more than enough to keep you entertained for quite some time. This is without a doubt one of the best mobile horror games that have ever been created.
DISTRAINT: DELUXE EDITION
Distraint has hand-drawn graphics and is based on a straightforward premise. The controls are very straightforward, and you should be able to pick them up fairly quickly. It does not typically rely on classic horror elements such as jump scares to convey its message. In lieu of that, it makes an attempt to creep you out with its story line. As a matter of fact, it advertises itself as a psychological horror game. It’s a little short, and you should be able to complete it in a few hours. The Deluxe Edition is a little more expensive than the standard edition, but it comes with a slew of extras. If you use Google Play Pass, you can get Distraint: Deluxe Edition for free as well.
INTO THE DEAD 2
Into the Dead 2 is the latest installment in a critically acclaimed series of horror video games. It’s a game with an infinite number of levels. Your objective is to remain alive for as long as possible. Additionally, the game features a story mode with multiple endings, weapon and ammo perks, and other features. In addition, the game includes more game play mechanics than the previous iteration. As a result, it is the one we would recommend first. However, the first Into the Dead is still quite good. Both horror games are available for free.
