The legendary DJ Steve Aoki has collaborated with a leading expert in neuroscience to deliver a light-hearted lecture on focused ultrasound technology.
The Dim Mak boss is well-known for his involvement in a variety of ancillary businesses outside of electronic dance music, including NFTs, Pokémon cards, apparel, and other products. However, his philanthropic endeavors, carried out through his Aoki Foundation, are an often overlooked aspect of his life story. Aoki raises funds for new brain science technology as well as for research into regenerative medicine, with a particular emphasis on the functionality of the brain. He has also hosted a number of educational events to raise awareness about the importance of brain preservation.
Aoki has now released a video in collaboration with West Virginia University’s Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute that highlights technology that combats the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, tremors, and other neurological conditions. Viewers can learn about a new ultrasound helmet from Dr. Ali Rezai, who discusses how it can be used to treat these conditions and improve the overall quality of life for patients. The video was released in conjunction with Aoki’s donation of $20,000 to the institute.
