Fan-made games based on the same deadly challenges seen in Squid Game have begun to appear all over Roblox in recent days, indicating that the game’s popularity is spreading across all platforms at this time. In the “Popular” section of the site, there are already several Squid Game-inspired Roblox remakes, which is particularly impressive given a recent investigation by People Make Games that revealed just how difficult it is to get your game featured on Roblox’s front page.
The Squid Game Roblox remakes are sometimes referred to by different names, such as “Fish Game” or “Hexa Game,” but these experiences are exact replicas of the Netflix series, down to the costumes and challenges that are used in the game. A quick search for ‘Squid Game’ on Roblox’s website reveals even more remakes that haven’t made it into any of the most popular categories on the platform.

These challenges include traditional playground games such as Red Light, Green Light, and Tug-of-War, with the only difference being that the consequences of losing are lethal. While many have noted the show’s resemblance to older survival films such as Battle Royale, as well as its critiques of capitalism, which is a popular topic in South Korean media, Squid Game’s style and gore distinguish it as a unique take on the genre.
