A virtual concert featuring Steve Aoki and one of SEGA’s most recognizable characters, Sonic the Hedgehog, will take place in the coming months.
The performance will feature a one-hour set from Aoki in an immersive Sonic environment that will include several of the game’s most recognizable destinations, such as the Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant, among other things. As well as original compositions, the DJ has remixed a number of fan-favorite tracks from vintage Sonic games from the 16-bit period. The ultimate treat for lifelong fans of the series will, without a question, be this DVD release.
“The original Sonic the Hedgehog game is unquestionably the best Sonic game ever made. That was the game that kicked off everything for me.” In a behind-the-scenes film, Aoki explained his reasoning. ” It was the game I was most infatuated with at the time, and you know I remember putting it in my genesis console and just rocking out to it.”
Aoki recently announced a partnership with Sensorium Galaxy, where he will conduct special virtual reality performances using motion capture technology. As part of his recent reveal, he revealed his Aoki Vault, which contains a treasure trove of extremely rare Pokémon cards and artifacts.
The virtual concert will take place on November 30th, which happens to be Aoki’s birthday, at 12 p.m. Pacific Time (PT) (3PM ET). You may watch along on YouTube or Twitch.
