PUBG: New State has received a tremendous amount of attention for a game that has not even been released yet. Earlier this week, Krafton announced that 40 million people have pre-registered for New State on both iOS and Android devices, an increase from 28 million just a month ago.
In addition, Krafton provided an update on when PUBG: New State will be released officially. It was originally scheduled to launch in September, but that date has been postponed until a later date that has not been determined. Although an October 8 launch date was leaked on the iOS App Store, Krafton will now announce a “official launch date in October.” There were no additional details provided.
It is important to note that for those who have not played PUBG: New State yet, it is set several decades in the future following the collapse of human society. As humanity descends into anarchy, factions have risen from the ruins and are now fighting for control of technology and resource allocation.
There will be significant improvements over the previous version of the game, including new dodging mechanics, drone strikes and a ping system as well as pre-scripted radio messages, a deployable shield, as well as futuristic new vehicles. It will still feature the classic third-person gunplay that everyone enjoys, and it will even include many of the same weapons as before.
According to Minkyu Park, executive producer at New State, “We’ve been able to achieve this level of success because of fan enthusiasm around the world and their faith in PUBG Studios’ work. PUBG: NEW STATE’s Second Alpha Test provided us with invaluable feedback, and we are now concentrating on taking that feedback and refining the game in preparation for its official release later this year.”
PUBG: New State recently went up for pre-registration in India, which is likely to have pushed the game closer to the 40 million player threshold. Pre-registration is now open on Google Play and the App Store, and you’ll receive a free vehicle skin as a thank you for your time.
