These official PlayStation 5 faceplates are the result of a recent legal battle between Sony and Dbrand, a firm that manufactures its own third-party PS5 faceplates. Sony also just filed a patent for the PS5 faceplates, which could have been the first indication that these new color possibilities were on the way.
