HYPEX, a reputable Fortnite leaker, shared an image of Morty on their Twitter account, providing the world with the first full look at his set. Despite the fact that Morty has been datamined over the past week and shown off alongside characters such as Mike Lowrey from Bad Boys, this is the first time we’ve seen his complete set and official description.
Morty’s store announcement description, according to HYPEX, is as follows: “He’s been constructed for combat. By association, he has an intimidating presence. He’s got your back, believe it or not. Don’t leave the house without Morty in tow. Now is a good time to check out Mecha Morty in the Item Shop.”
Morty is seen wearing a mech suit that is similar to the one that Snowball wore in the season one episode Lawnmower Dog. A Meseeks box is hidden inside his backpack, and his pickaxe is a replica of the snake that he attempted to launch into space in the Rattlestar Ricklactica television series. As previously revealed, the snake moves around as he swings it, indicating that it is not the one he accidentally killed earlier in the year.
Interestingly, Morty’s gun is wrapped in a Meseeks wrap, which is a bit surprising considering that the character hasn’t really had anything to do with Meseeks throughout Rick and Morty’s run. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Morty’s emote appears to indicate that he is capable of getting Schwifty. Curiously, the emote depicts two players performing the action, which could indicate that it is a cooperative action and that you will require the assistance of another player in order to complete it properly. Morty will almost certainly have his own loading screen art, just like the majority of other characters.
While Epic Games has made no official announcements regarding Morty’s inclusion in the game as of yet, the datamine from earlier this week, as well as this complete look at the character, make it clear that he will be making an appearance in the game. Morty is expected to arrive today or tomorrow, according to HYPEX, though the exact date is not known.
