With Ever Forward, Pathea Games is drawing inspiration from the world of slumber for their upcoming major release. The firm previously created My Time At Portia, a game that combined elements of Stardew Valley, Minecraft, and Animal Crossing to create a unique experience.
Ever Forward depicts the narrative of Maya, a young woman who finds herself in a bizarre world that exists between between reality and fantasy. She is on her own in her quest for knowledge, and she will have to unlock her memories and face her fears if she is to uncover the secrets of the universe.
As part of the mystery surrounding Maya’s history and uncovering the dark secrets she has hidden, players will be required to use their observational abilities and brains to solve many puzzles in this puzzle-platformer.
For the past three years, the Pathea team has been racking their brains to come up with puzzles that are both entertaining and demanding for enthusiasts of the genre. While the game’s story and visual design are both noteworthy, the developers emphasize that the game’s puzzles are the most important aspect of the experience.
A peaceful color palette of soothing pastels and electric futuristic tones is used to effectively imitate the ridiculous nature of false reality in Ever Forward, adding a touch of style to a genre that was previously lacking.
So that Maya’s dreams may properly be described as “out of this world,” several parts of the visual style were purposefully intended to be psychedelic and emotive in order to truly show them as “out of this world.”
Ever Forward was first launched on PC in August 2020, and it earned a plethora of positive reviews for its surreal graphics and ingenious puzzle design.
Ever Forward will be released on December 7, 2021, for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch.
