MIDNIGHTREBELS-DOTA2

DOTA 2 WILL “SOON” STOP SUPPORTING 32-BIT SYSTEMS

The developer wants to streamline its workflow and put more emphasis on cutting-edge technological advancements.

Dota 2 fans are in for a treat today with some exciting news. It has been announced that the International’s English broadcasters will consist of 32 major names, including Sumichi, Fogged, Sunsfan, and Ephey. Tickets for the live event, which will take place in Bucharest, Romania, will go on sale on September 22, with The International 2021 Compendium, which will be available online today, allowing players to keep track of all the action.

However, as much as today’s update looks forward to the upcoming celebration, there is some disappointing news for those who are still using older systems. It has been confirmed by Valve that Dota 2 will cease to support 32-bit systems, older versions of macOS, and DirectX 9 in the very near future.”

“We’re planning to remove support for some older systems and configurations in order to keep the game and the Source 2 engine fresh,” according to Valve. ” At this time, nothing will change, but in the coming months, we will put in place the following changes.”

Valve intends to discontinue support for 32-bit operating systems and only support 64-bit operating systems. Support for MacOS versions prior to 10.14, as well as DirectX 9 and OpenGL, will be phased out in the near future. Dota 2 will instead support DirectX 11 and Vulkan, as well as other graphics cards.

In addition, Valve stated that “For the vast majority of players, nothing will change when the changes are implemented. Taking away these outdated technologies will allow us to streamline our development efforts while also utilizing the more recent features of these APIs to provide an even better Dota experience.”

Microsoft has already stopped supporting 32-bit systems with Windows 10 since the release of the operating system last year, so if you are running Windows 10, you don’t need to be concerned. If you aren’t, it may be time to think about upgrading your computer. Windows 11 is only a few months away, so it’s best to make the switch as soon as possible.

In other Dota 2 news, the latest Spectator HUD updates will be released just in time for the upcoming World Championships, which will provide an even better view for the audience. A number of new features have been added to the game in the most recent update, including status indicators, infographics, camera controls, and playback options, all of which help spectators better understand what’s going on and to take a peek at different areas of the game while remaining able to return to the main action.

The International Group Stage begins on October 7, and the Main Stage Finals begin on October 12. The International Group Stage concludes on October 12. Pay attention on October 17 to see who will be crowned as the Aegis of Champions on the winning team.
