DON’T MISS GORILLAZ’S NEW SONGS FOR NHS WORKERS

Despite the fact that Gorillaz’s Song Machine: Season One: Strange Timez was released less than a year ago, it appears that the band is still working on new music. A handful of previously unheard new songs were premiered by Blur during their performance at the O2 Arena in London on August 10 as part of a concert to benefit NHS workers. The concert was organized by Damon Albarn and took place on his birthday.

The track “Déjà Vu” features an island-inspired framework and dancehall singer Alicia Harley’s vocals, with Jelani Blackman contributing to the track “Meanwhile” and British rapper AJ Tracey joining the digital band for the track “Jimmy Jimmy.”

Earlier this year, Albarn hinted at the possibility of a follow-up to Song Machine, saying that he’s been working on a carnival-themed album that will see Gorillaz return to their roots. Albarn has also been working on his sophomore solo album, The Nearer the Fountain, the More Pure the Stream Flows, which will be released on November 12th.
