This month, PUBG: Battlegrounds, the game that was recently renamed, has announced that it will be collaborating with the extremely popular K-pop group Blackpink for an event that will begin later this month.

The PUBG x Blackpink collaboration was announced on Twitter with a short announcement video set to the group’s iconic song, “How You Like That,” serving as the background soundtrack. Starting today, a variety of different Blackpink cosmetic items will be available for purchase in-game until the end of 2021, with the majority of them being limited edition. It is expected that there will be a total of thirty-five different cosmetics, with separate bundles for each member of the K-pop group – Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rose – to be released. Hairstyles, nameplates, helmets, outfits, weapons, and other accessories are included in the bundles, as well as a variety of other items.

In conjunction with the Blackpink collaboration event, which will take place between August 18 and September 7, special in-game event missions will be introduced, which players can complete in order to earn points that can be redeemed for exclusive Blackpink items. Players will have the opportunity to obtain their very own Level 3 Blackpink themed helmet in-game, as well as additional contraband coupons, as part of the package.

PUBG is releasing a variety of themed elements across many of the game’s maps throughout the duration of the collaboration to commemorate everything Blackpink throughout the collaboration. These will take place between August 8 and September 7 on PC, and between August 12 and September 15 on consoles and other devices. Players can expect to see Blackpink-themed decals on building walls, a Blackpink drop-plane tail, and themed supply crates among the various elements.

In recent weeks, a number of high-profile events have taken place on the battleground, including a Blackpink-themed collaboration. Spurs footballer Son Heung Min recently collaborated with the game, which resulted in the addition of a “Sonny” skin to the game as well as other in-game items in the store and additional features.
