Barney Live-Action Movie by Daniel Kaluuya Is Currently in Development

Daniel Kaluuya has confirmed that his “heartbreaking” live-action Barney movie is still in the early stages of development, and that the script is currently undergoing revisions, despite the fact that it has been a while since we’ve heard any updates on the project.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kaluuya discussed the various projects that are currently in the planning stages at his production compan. He wasn’t quite ready to spill the beans on everything that was going on behind the scenes, but he did talk for a little while about this project involving everybody’s favorite purple dinosaur and why he was so interested in working on it.

Barney, a purple Tyrannosaurus Rex, and his buddies Baby Bop, B.J., Riff, and other characters starred in the children’s show Barney & Friends, which lasted from 1992 through 2009 and was broadcast on television.

Fans of Kaluuya will have the opportunity to witness him in the next film Nope, which is being directed by Jordan Peele and will have its world premiere on July 22, 2022. However, it may be some time before Barney is adapted for the big screen.
