There is currently a big number of people who are eager to participate in the game, but who are unwilling to put their money into it (yet). You must have a team of at least three Axies in order to participate in the game. This indicates that you will need to purchase these three Axies before you can begin playing the game. This makes it extremely tough to get started because, without first playing the game, it can be difficult to figure out how to purchase the appropriate Axies for your needs.
On-ramping new players is a problem that has been addressed by the community through the establishment of Scholarship Programs. These are players that have a significant number of Axies to spare and who are ready to lend them out to new players to help them get started on their journey. These new players share a portion of the SLP they earn while playing, resulting in a win-win situation for both parties.
So, how does it function? It is, in fact, rather simple. This is accomplished by creating a new account within his or her own wallet, which will contain a team of Axies. Your log-in information is provided to you and you are ready to begin playing!
Please keep in mind that there is absolutely no reason to give personal information or secret keys! Once you’ve acquired resources in-game, it is the responsibility of the Axies’ owner to remove those resources from the account’s balance.
These programs carry two significant risks:
The scholar faces a risk because the Axie Owner does not share in the profits. This means that they take the entire SLP instead of just the amount/percentage that you had agreed on previously. To combat this problem, turn to programs that have been thoroughly vetted and proven to work!
The manager is at risk also since the person who is playing the game utilizes several accounts to play the game, which is a punishable act (more than one account within 24 hours to be precise). Therefore, Axies owned by the axie owner could be subject to suspension or ban because the person who lends the axes is not only playing with that account/team.
The majority of programs feature a reward split in which anything between 60 and 70% of the SLP earned goes to the Scholar, with the remaining 30 to 40% of the SLP earned going to the Program. It is common for the SLP requirement to be in the range of 500 to 700 SLP each week.
