Ubisoft’s Immortals: Fenyx Rising was another game that incorporated Greek mythology as a theme, and if you enjoyed that game’s more lighthearted approach to the subject matter, here’s a more refined action RPG take on the same theme.
It’s an all-new action adventure game from Taiwanese developers Acme Gamestudio, which was founded in 2016 by a group of passionate developers who wanted to make something different.
During the game, players will take on the role of Hilda, a brave Northwind Legion warrior on a quest to locate her long-lost father. Hilda’s journey will take her through the rise and fall of a great city, the making of history, and the making of difficult decisions that will change the course of history.
In this adventure, players will explore Aphes, the fallen city of the stars, as well as uncover its history and restore it to its former glory.
The path to Hilda’s destination will be blocked by a slew of mythical creatures, from trolls to lycanthropes. Fortunately, players can arm her with the power of the gods in order to overcome them.
Her arsenal of weapons is extensive: there’s the sword and shield, which is well-balanced for attacking and defending, daggers for quick-draw attacks, and backsteps to keep enemies on their toes. Hilda also has a variety of special moves that keep enemies guessing.
The spear necessitates quick reflexes and precise control in order to parry the enemy, but it also rewards players with powerful counterattacks. The heavy duty hammer is extremely powerful and can easily upset the opponent’s equilibrium.
When using the staff, players can take a more magical approach to combat as it allows for long-range attacks, allowing them to defeat the enemy before they even arrive on the scene. Finally, there are bracelets that can be used to place magic mines around the battle arena to confuse the enemy.
You’ll love Asterigos if you’ve ever wanted to play something that’s a cross between The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the original God of War trilogy.
Game will be available on PlayStation 4 and PC by spring 2022, with a PlayStation 5 release scheduled for fall 2022. Keep up to date with Asterigos’ progress by visiting its official website.
